I am practicing suturing techniques using hemostats on a banana (using a technique Leah Feldman taught me). I was pretty proud of my prowess and wanted to show my daughter... I said, "Jory, look how cool this is." She replied, "Yeah, awesome Mom, you can stitch up a banana. That should come in handy on sheep farm."

Looks like we're going to Black Sheep Gathering for sure. I am so excited to see everyone. I haven't been able to go in two years. I'm bringing one animal to show and showing one yearling (in full fleece) which I am buying from Joy Dally. We will be filming and one of the Executive Producers is traveling with us and staying in the RV with us. I didn't tell him I snore really bad and I am super embarrassed... uh oh. Tara Lange, are you ready? We leave next Thurs.

My friend made this infinity cowl with handspun German Shepherd. It is one of my favorite, and i mean, all time favorite handknit from handspun items.
June 11, 2013 at 7:54 am Role reversal. I had to tell Percival Morganstern, "Leave it, that'll do." Lace just pretends like she doesn't see him.
June 11, 2013 at 7:39 am Jane Louise and Percival Morganstern are checking out the grass. Percival is considered "one of the pack" now by all the dogs, including Lace. He lives in our backyard with his "twin" brother, "Dee Dee Mau," the bottle fed goat.

Black lamb fleece, no sunbeached tips... just perfectly formed 2 shearing tight purls with a super staple. 38.00 lb... seemingly jet black. Booked Connery's flight home for the 27th of June. I keep telling him, "Better make the money last, that's an awfully longtime!" A bit nervous, plus, he is going to the Holland. I took less comfort when he said, "I really want to see the Red Light District." I reminded him we did not budget for penicillin.

Just did my yearly testing for CAE and CL in my foundation goats (Cloudspun, Persimmon Tree Farm, South Texas Angoras). Every goat was negative. So happy to buy from great breeders with healthy flocks. We are clear every year but still check ones purchased less than 5 years ago. Wanted to give a shout out to Greta Dise too for selling me goats that are so healthy and long lived, several are over 10 and one is 15 (she had twins this year). Two of the oldest goats I have, in their lifetime, made the rounds from Sharon Chestnutt, to Diane Coon, to Greta, and now, to me. These are top notch breeders, really.

Connery is in London now, his aunt left. I love that he got to fly on the plane with her while she was stewardessing (lol is that a word?) but now, she has to go back to work and fly out. He is solo and will be for 2-3 weeks. I think he is traveling to Holyhead and going to Ireland, then, he will take a ferry back and get Lad for the trip home. I'm a bit jealous right now:)
Connery is on a plane to London right now. I am pretty sure he made it on a flight with my longest time friend and a flight attendant, Jenny Treston. Super excited for him to be there to pick up fleece and, Lad.
